Terms and Conditions

Effective date: [December , 2024]

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of 518ApplianceCare.com (the “Site”) and any service requests you make through the Site, by phone, text, or email. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Company name: 518 Appliance Care (“we,” “us,” “our”)

Service area: Albany, NY and nearby Capital Region communities

1) Services and scope

We provide appliance repair and related diagnostic services. Services may include inspection, diagnosis, repair, replacement of parts, and general service recommendations.

Services are offered based on:

  • technician availability
  • parts availability
  • access conditions on site
  • the appliance model and condition

We may decline service requests that are outside our service area or outside our capabilities.

2) Scheduling, arrival windows, and access

When you schedule service, we may provide an estimated arrival window. Arrival times can change due to traffic, job complexity, parts delays, weather, or earlier appointments.

You agree to provide:

  • accurate contact information
  • accurate address and access instructions
  • safe and reasonable access to the appliance

If you live in an apartment building or managed property, you are responsible for securing access, approvals, and entry instructions.

3) Estimates, pricing, and authorization

Pricing may include a diagnostic fee, labor charges, and parts. We will explain our pricing structure during scheduling or before work begins.

Estimates

Any estimate provided before diagnosis is only a general range and may change after we inspect and test the appliance.

Authorization to proceed

You authorize us to perform work only after you approve the recommended repair and pricing. If additional issues are discovered during a repair, we will communicate those findings and request approval before continuing, when reasonably possible.

4) Diagnostic fees

Many service calls include a diagnostic fee to cover travel, inspection, and testing. Diagnostic fees may apply even if you choose not to proceed with a repair, because diagnosis is a service provided.

We will explain diagnostic fees during scheduling or before a technician begins work.

5) Parts, special orders, and availability

Some repairs require parts that are not available immediately. In those cases:

  • we may need to order parts
  • repair completion times may vary
  • availability may change due to suppliers and shipping

We may recommend postponing a repair until parts arrive or offer alternative solutions when possible.

6) Cancellations and rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible.

We may charge a reasonable fee for late cancellations or missed appointments when:

  • a technician has already been dispatched, or
  • an appointment time was reserved and held for you

7) Customer responsibilities and safety

You agree to maintain a safe work environment. Before we arrive, please:

  • clear access to the appliance
  • secure pets
  • ensure utilities are available when needed (power, water, gas)
  • inform us of hazards (leaks, smoke, burning smell, suspected gas leak)

Safety disclaimer

If you suspect a gas leak, carbon monoxide exposure, sparking, fire risk, or any emergency, stop using the appliance and contact your utility provider or emergency services as appropriate. Do not rely on the Site for emergency guidance.

8) Warranties and guarantees

If we provide a warranty on parts and labor, the warranty terms will be provided in writing on your invoice or service documentation.

Warranty coverage may not apply in certain situations, such as:

  • misuse or improper installation by others
  • damage caused by pests, flooding, fire, or power surges
  • repairs or modifications performed by someone else after our service
  • normal wear and tear outside the repaired component

9) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages related to your use of the Site or services.
  • We are not responsible for losses due to delays caused by parts availability, access issues, weather, or factors outside our control.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to a service visit is limited to the amount paid for that specific service, unless otherwise required by law.

10) Website content and information only
